Meet Warstler's New Principal
We are thrilled to introduce Carolyn Herstich as the new principal of Warstler Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year! With a rich background in education and a passion for fostering student success, Mrs. Herstich is set to bring her experience and enthusiasm to our school.
Carolyn Herstich attended The University of Akron, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Special Education and her Master's degree in Educational Administration. She spent 14 years working in Akron Public Schools, where she served as a teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Building Principal. This extensive experience has prepared her well for her new role at Warstler.
Mrs. Herstich’s journey with Plain Local Schools began at Glenwood Intermediate School, where she served as Assistant Principal. Her dedication and leadership skills were evident, leading to her new role as the Principal of Warstler Elementary School. She is excited to bring her expertise and energy to the Warstler community.
This summer, Mrs. Herstich is enjoying quality time with her family and friends. She’s spending sunny days at the pool and embarking on adventurous travels to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. There, she and her family will be seeking thrills through ziplining and white water rafting. These experiences are sure to provide a well-deserved break and prepare her for a strong start to the new school year.
Carolyn and her husband, Matt Herstich, will be celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary this October. Matt is a proud Plain Local graduate, class of 2001, and together they are raising two wonderful children, Owen, who will be in grade 5, and Evelyn, who will be in grade 4. The family also includes Fannie, their two-year-old mini bernedoodle, who brings extra joy and fun to their household.
When asked about her upcoming role, Mrs. Herstich shared, “I am most looking forward to immersing myself into our school culture by collaborating with staff and students to help everyone SOAR at Warstler!” Her commitment to building a positive and supportive environment for both students and staff is evident and aligns perfectly with our school’s mission.
Welcome, Mrs. Carolyn Herstich! Here’s to a fantastic year of growth and achievement at Warstler Elementary School.
