Food Drive
This October, our Plain Local community has two great opportunities to come together and fight hunger right here in Stark County.
October 10: 16th Annual Tailgate Against Hunger
Before the GlenOak vs. Jackson football game on Friday, October 10, the Belden Village Kiwanis and Aktion Clubs, along with the GlenOak and Jackson Key Clubs, will host the annual Tailgate Against Hunger at Bob Commings Stadium. Bring nonperishable food items or cash donations: every $1 helps provide up to 7 pounds of food through the Stark County Hunger Task Force. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off on your way to the game, there will be volunteers collecting at the entryway to the game! Donations will support the Stark County Hunger Task Force.
October 17: HUNGER: The Bus Stops Here! Challenge
The following week, help GlenOak National Honor Society “stuff the bus” with donations! Bring non-perishable food to the home football game on October 17 or drop them off at GlenOak High School from October 14–17. Donations will go directly to the Foodbank’s Stark County Campus, where $1 provides 3 meals and 1.2 pounds equals one meal.
Together, we can ensure that no family in Stark County has to choose between necessities and nourishing food.
