2026 Senior Academic Awards

2026 Senior Academic Awards

Close to 200 GlenOak High School students were recognized during the 2026 Senior Academic Awards Program on May 14, celebrating academic excellence, leadership, service, fine arts achievement, career tech success, athletics, and future plans after graduation. This year also marked a historic milestone as the Class of 2026 became the first graduating class at GlenOak High School to be recognized through the new Latin Honors system, with 146 students earning Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or Summa Cum Laude distinction for outstanding academic achievement. The evening highlighted the many ways GlenOak students continue to lead, achieve, and SOAR both inside and outside the classroom.

Class Awards

The Class of 2026 speakers represent a cross-section of student voice and achievement. Together, these students reflect the pride, experiences, and shared journey of the graduating class.

Summa Scholar

Beginning with the Class of 2026, GlenOak High School recognizes academic achievement through the Latin Honors system. Students whose cumulative grade point averages place them among the highest in the graduating class are recognized as Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or Summa Cum Laude. Students who earned Summa Cum Laude distinction had the opportunity to apply, and one student was selected by a panel of educators as the Summa Scholar, representing the highest level of academic achievement in the graduating class and serving as the student speaker at commencement.
