Thank you to all of our families who participated in Spirit Week last week, it was so fun to see students at every level get involved and show their support for our district. I know our GlenOak High School students had a great time at homecoming this weekend, it is great to get back to some normalcy while also doing our best to keep each other safe.
I want to share with our community that we have been challenged by the Goodwill to see which community, Plain Local or Jackson can collect the most items for their donation center before the October 1 GlenOak vs. Jackson Varsity Football game.
There will be a trailer at GlenOak High School starting on Monday, September 27-Friday October 1 during school hours to collect items. This is a great opportunity to clean out your closets and garage and help give back to the community!
Next, I am excited to announce a new initiative for Plain Local that I think will be a great help to A LOT of families. We are piloting a new program called Math Assist Live that connects parents and students with Plain Local teachers to help with math homework. This new program is for students in 5-8th grade math as well as students enrolled in Algebra or Geometry. Sunday, Monday and Wednesday evenings students or parents can log in to get guidance on math homework live from a plain local teacher from 7:00 pm-8:00pm. Stay tuned, information will be sent home with students on how to get logged in. This new program starts Monday, September 27.
Thank you for a great start of the school year, I will continue to provide Sunday updates to our community bi-weekly, I hope everyone has a wonderful start of the week and Go Eagles!
