Dear Avondale Community,
As we head into late autumn and the approaching holiday season, I want to reflect on just how proud and grateful I am to have the opportunity to support our fantastic students and their families, along with the highly dedicated staff. Great things are happening each day at Avondale. Students are engaged in rich and meaningful learning experiences daily. Teachers and staff are collaborating to continuously learn and grow as educators, making sure that each student is achieving. As I walk the halls and visit classrooms, I can't help but feel pride and gratitude.
In addition to our laser focus on academics, our entire school community has continued our efforts on building and maintaining a positive school atmosphere. Students thrive with our clear expectations, consistency in daily routines, focus on positive reinforcement, and opportunities to learn and practice expected behaviors. These eagles spread their wings and SOAR each day.
We are building leaders through daily experiences and interactions, as well as through our Fourth Grade SLAM tutoring program, in which fourth graders tutor and mentor younger students each morning before announcements. Our Fierce Females, comprised of fourth grade young ladies, have been up and running all year. They have been involved in several community projects that support their motto of "learn, lead, love", such as raising funds for breast cancer awareness and our school-wide recycling program. Our third grade young men had their first Guys With Ties meeting recently. They are looking forward to growing as young men and leaders in their school and community. They will learn and lead through service to others and work to make their school and community better.
I am grateful for the partnerships Avondale has with its families and community. It is these partnerships that truly make our school a great place to learn. Please do not hesitate in reaching out to me directly if there is anything you need.
Yours in partnership,
