Greetings Glenwood Families and Plain Local Community,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Glenwood Intermediate School. We have been working very hard to prepare for the upcoming school year. We spent the summer updating the building to ensure that we are in accordance with the health department’s guidelines. Student and staff health and safety is Glenwood’s main focus for this coming year. We have created an educational plan that allows for GWIS students to have face to face instruction 5-days a week with social distancing guidelines. This year, it is imperative that the school and families work as one unit to provide the best possible education for all students as we navigate through this unprecedented time. We are all in this together and together we will move forward.
This year at Glenwood Intermediate School students will be separated into two teams. Students will be categorized as either Team 1 or Team 2. The two teams will follow an A/B rotating schedule with Core Content Learning Days and Arts and Academic Lab Learning Days. A calendar with the schedule for the first nine weeks is included in this mailing.
For the health and safety of our students and staff, arts/elective classes have been selected for students to assist with the controlled flow of traffic and social distancing guidelines. I know student arts selection is very important but during this unique time, it was a necessary precaution.
No schedule change requests for art offerings will be accepted at this time. At this time band, choir and strings will not be offered at GWIS. Musical keyboarding, music appreciation, music exploration will be offered in place of these classes.
