Camp Invention A Fun Way To Learn!

Plain Local Schools is pleased to once again offer the nationally acclaimed Camp Invention to children entering grades one through six on Monday, June 9 through Friday, June 13, 2014.0
Register by March 28, 2014 to receive $20 off the base price of $220. Discounts are also available for campers returning from last year. All campers receive a free T-shirt.

Golden Eagles Support St. Baldricks!

The Canton St. Baldrick's Event will be at Quaker Steak & Lube on Sunday, March 16, 2014 beginning at noon. This year shavees will include Plain Local students from Middlebranch Elementary: Nick Frangias, Brody Humes, Atticus Black, Ethan Philpott and Luke Sarris; from Oakwood Middle School: Justin Hurst, Micah Rehrman, and Danny Bridenthal; and from Taft Elementary: Grady Lautensleger, Ryan Hanlon, Eva Harper, Gavin Yates, Eli Krach, Kaleb Pudder, Garret Tolbert and his parents Melissa and Josh Tolbert (both Plain Local staff)and from Warstler Elementary: Tina Cogan (Gr 1 teacher).
There are many opportunities to donate and join in on the fun at the event, and 15% of all food and drink orders placed at Quaker Steak all day on Sunday will go towards St. Baldrick's. Go to the St. Baldrick's website to donate or call Nan Foltz at Taft Elementary for information at 330-491-3760.

Frazer Named High Progress School of Honor

The Ohio Department of Education has named Frazer Elementary School as a High Progress School of Honor for sustaining high academic achievement among their students, including many from economically disadvantaged homes.

The PayForIt system offer parents a convenient way to pay their child’s school fees and pre-pay and manage lunch accounts online. User names and passwords remain the same as last year.

Frazer Elementary ~ School Of Promise

Frazer Elementary School has been named a School of Promise, joining Avondale Elementary as 2 of only 141 schools in the state to earn the recognition.
The Schools of Promise award program recognizes schools attaining solid student achievement in reading and mathematics while serving a significant number of economically disadvantaged students.

Title I is a federally funded program that allows qualifying schools to use Title I funds for supplemental services and support for students in need of assistance in reading and/or math.
