Welcome to the Plain Local Schools Foundation and Alumni Association web page.
The Plain Local Schools Foundation was started to help ensure quality educational experiences by serving as a receptacle for special private gifts and funds on behalf of Plain Local Schools. Funds have been established to benefit innovative programs across all disciplines of education. Over the years, more than 26,000 alumni and Foundation friends have contributed more than $400,000 to the foundation endowment.
Most recently, the Foundation was able to raise over $400,000 in order to provide additional seating and enhancements to the theater at the new GlenOak Community Campus. This donation enabled the Plain Local School District the opportunity to expand the theater from 600 to almost 900 seats, install an acoustic shell and purchase a grand concert piano. This helped to create a venue that provides ample space for events such as the annual May Show, the Kent State University steel drum band, and the Canton Symphony.
In addition, the Foundation raises monies for elementary grants, scholarships and district-wide events while also growing the endowment fund. This campaign drive focuses on the need to continually develop new resources that enable the Foundation to address the program and scholarship needs of the Plain Local School District and support the District’s educational philosophy of “Educating the Whole Child”.
Gifts to the Plain Local Schools Foundation provide the opportunity for every Eagle to achieve his or her highest goals.
