DEPARTMENT INFORMATION //

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction Elementary & Middle Grades, works with the K-8 administrators, teachers, support staff, board of education, and community to provide leadership, planning, and support in facilitating, improving, and promoting student achievement in all curricular areas.

 

 

DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITY //
Participates in the development and management of the district Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP) including state and federal grants that support it.

Directs the on-going review, development, and implementation of the K-8 curriculum that is aligned to state content, benchmark and performance standards as required by the Ohio Standards of Excellence.

Manages the evaluation, selection, and purchasing of textbooks and instructional materials that support the District’s curriculum and advancement of student learning/achievement.

Directs the development of common formative and summative assessments aligned to content, benchmark and performance standards.

Plans and facilitates research supported staff development for the District.

Manages the District-wide diagnostic testing as well as the data analysis, interpretation of results, and goal setting for all state tests information. 

Plans and oversees the District’s Reading Intervention Program including OhioReads.


Serves as District liaison/representative in collaboration with other district, county and state curriculum professionals to share and gather research-based information in the continued improvement of quality instruction and learning.
