MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL INSTRUCTION INFORMATION
The function of the Secondary Instruction Office is to assist in articulating the curricular and instructional goals of the district. Maintaining communication with teachers, administrators, and support services is the most important means of carrying out the function of this office.
DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITY
Specific tasks of the Secondary Instruction Office include:
• Ensuring that all curricula establish clear and high standards aligned with state content, benchmark and performance standards as required by the Ohio Standards of Excellence.
• Coordinating the development of common formative and summative assessment, ensuring that assessments are aligned with content, benchmark, and performance standards.
• Coordinating standards and assessment revision cycle aligned with instructional materials adoption cycle.
• Assisting in the annual review of school performance data as they identify strengths and specific areas in need of improvement in order to formulate measurable goals and objectives.
• Collaborating with professional development and secondary administrators to provide current research-based information and training on best-practices of instruction to teachers.
