DEPARTMENT INFORMATION //

The business management department transports, feeds, and ensures that all of our students have a clean and save environment in which to learn. The department employs 48 bus drivers, 2 mechanics, 48 food service employees, 37 custodians, and 5 maintenance workers.

DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITY //
Transportation:
The District covers 28 square miles and each day over 5,000 students are transported to our 11 buildings and 27 non-public and parochial schools. Each year district buses travel over 678,679 miles to safely transport students to and from school.

The Plain Local Bus Garage is located at 901 44th St NW, and is staffed by 2 full-time mechanics to maintain and repair a fleet of 60 buses.

Building and Grounds:
The Plain Local Maintenance and Custodial staff are responsible for the upkeep and repair of the building and grounds throughout the district. The staff of 37 custodians and 5 maintenance employees maintain and clean over 1,060,171 square feet of building space each day.

Food Service:
Each day our staff of 48 food service employees serve lunch and breakfast in the 10 district cafeterias. In addition, the cafeterias offer a variety of ala carte items to students and staff.
